Jangseong Police Station Conducts Child Abuse Prevention Education for Baegam Middle School Teachers
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] The Jangseong Police Station in Jeonnam (Chief Im Jihwan) announced on the 23rd that it recently conducted education on child abuse prevention and mandatory reporting for child abuse for 20 school staff members, including the vice principal, at Jangseong Baekam Middle School.
This education was conducted at the request of Jangseong Baekam Middle School, using customized educational materials independently produced by the school-dedicated police officer (Lieutenant Kim 00) of Jangseong Police Station. The session was held in a format that guided and discussed cases and issues related to child abuse, compliance requirements for mandatory reporters, and reporting procedures.
A representative of Baekam Middle School stated, “Through this education, we have developed a sense of duty to prevent child abuse and protect children as mandatory reporters of abuse.”
A Jangseong police official said, “We will continue to collaborate with related organizations to make efforts to prevent child abuse and thoroughly investigate reported cases of child abuse and protect victims,” adding, “We urge not only school staff but anyone who suspects abuse to report it to the police.”
