[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 22nd, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the '2022 Seoul Metropolitan City Landscape Award and Green City Award' ceremony at the Seoul City Hall Multipurpose Hall and announced that awards were given to four outstanding landscaping spaces and 20 citizen-led excellent greening cases.
At the awards ceremony, the 'Seoul Metropolitan City Landscape Award,' which selects and awards excellent landscaping spaces in the public and private sectors within Seoul, and the 'Seoul Metropolitan City Green City Award,' which discovers and awards excellent greening cases where citizens plant and cultivate flowers and trees around their living environment, were presented.
The 'Seoul Metropolitan City Landscape Award' is a newly launched award aimed at promoting the improvement of Seoul's urban landscape and the development of the landscaping field. It was established to encourage healthy competition among experts participating in landscaping projects and to enhance the level of greenery in Seoul.
Seoul selected a total of four winners for the '2022 Seoul Metropolitan City Landscape Award,' including one Grand Prize, one Excellence Award, and two Merit Awards. Since its inception in 2013, the 'Seoul Metropolitan City Green City Award' has aimed to discover and award excellent greening cases where citizens voluntarily plant and cultivate flowers and trees around neighborhoods (alleyways and small spaces), private and communal housing (apartments), and commercial areas throughout Seoul. This initiative seeks to boost citizens' pride and spread garden culture.
