Mokpo National Maritime University LINC3.0 Project Group Successfully Completes 'Employment Competency Enhancement Camp'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] The LINC3.0 Project Group (Director Choi Hyun-jun) of the National Mokpo Maritime University (President Han Won-hee) successfully completed the 'Employment Competency Enhancement Camp.'
This camp was implemented to support employment at contracted companies by strengthening the employment competencies of graduating students. For efficient program operation, not only the LINC3.0 Project Group but also the specialized employment and entrepreneurship competency enhancement education corporation DreamNaru Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Je-hwan) participated. From the 18th to the 19th, 26 fourth-year students from Mokpo Maritime University participated in Yeosu.
Those preparing for interviews with shipping companies started with 'Shipping Company Analysis' and strengthened their practical employment competencies through programs such as 'Interview Skill Level UP' and 'Mock Interviews,' which are essential elements for interview preparation.
Choi Mu-seong, a fourth-year student in the Department of Marine Mechatronics who participated in the camp, said, "At a time just before the interview, all the courses were essential education for preparation. I gained confidence in employment, which I had vaguely feared, and learned how to prepare for the interview. The mock interview, which was just like the real thing, was very nerve-wracking but the most helpful," he shared his thoughts.
Im Jeong-hwan, an administrative officer of the LINC3.0 Project Group, said, "While considering what we should do to support the employment of all faculty members and participating students under the director, we planned this camp with the intention of providing education that truly helps students rather than an event-type program. Although it was a short time of only one night and two days, I felt proud seeing students actively participate in the program and now gain confidence in employment."
Kim Mi-hyun, CEO of PMA Consulting, who participated as an interviewer, also stated, "After conducting this camp, I realized why the National Mokpo Maritime University has the highest employment rate nationwide. I was impressed by the passion of the participating students and the LINC3.0 Project Group faculty members."

Meanwhile, for safety management during this camp held in Yeosu, three managers accompanied the participants 24 hours a day and stayed at the accommodation. Emergency routes to nearby hospitals and police stations were secured, and special attention was paid to safety accidents. The camp was conducted safely by strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines such as wearing masks thoroughly, disinfecting classrooms every hour, checking body temperature, and providing separate dining spaces for participants.
