One Meal 2,000 Won, Infinite Refill and Drinks for 1,000 Won Containing 'Warmth'
Gwangju Nam-gu Yangnim-dong Beodeulsoop Community Center 'Ttasunbapjip·Gongginori Tea Workshop'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A restaurant called Ddaseunbapjip, offering unlimited refills of meals for 2,000 won per serving, and Gongbang Chatjip, a workshop tea house selling various teas for 1,000 won, have opened at the Beodeulsup Resident Community Center in Yangnim-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
In particular, during the urban regeneration project in Yangnim-dong, the Village Management Social Cooperative established last year and the Caritas Sisters have been stoking the furnace of Ddaseunbapjip and Gongbang Chatjip, adding warmth of love to the neighborhood community in cooperation with the local society.
Nam-gu announced on the 22nd, “To provide a comfortable resting place for local residents, including young people who are struggling and exhausted, we will provide the Ddaseunbapjip space free of charge for two years at the Beodeulsup Resident Community Center and support the necessary equipment for restaurant operation.”
Ddaseunbapjip, which recently opened on the second floor of the Beodeulsup Resident Community Center, is a restaurant operated by the Yangnim-dong Village Management Social Cooperative and the Caritas Sisters.
The sisters belonging to the Caritas Sisters joined the Village Management Social Cooperative and prepared Ddaseunbapjip as part of their contribution to the local community.
This restaurant opens on weekdays from 11:30 a.m. until ingredients run out, and since it is not a profit-making restaurant, it provides one meal per person for up to 80 servings daily.
Along with this, the Yangnim-dong Village Management Social Cooperative and the Caritas Sisters have set up a shared workshop tea house on the first floor below Ddaseunbapjip, selling various beverages such as coffee, homemade syrup, lemon tea, and peach tea for 1,000 won each.
This is to provide space for young people and residents who need rest and to offer counseling on various concerns in this space.
Nam-gu plans to support the stable operation of Ddaseunbapjip and Gongbang Chatjip through initial cooperative business funds by providing dishwashers, refrigerators, tables, office operating expenses, and purchasing equipment for making pecan walnut cookies, a specialty product of Yangnim-dong.
Additionally, the space will be provided free of charge for two years to ensure that warm meals and other services can continue.
