Democratic Party Office Bomb Threat Report Stir... Police Tracking the Author
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A commotion occurred when a post claiming that an explosive device had been planted at the Democratic Party headquarters was uploaded to an online community, prompting a police SWAT team to deploy and conduct a search.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 21st, at around 9:40 PM the previous day, a post titled "Notice of Explosive Device Planted at Democratic Party Headquarters" was uploaded to the Democratic Party gallery on the online community DC Inside.
The National Intelligence Service's Counterterrorism Information Integration Center received a report about the post at around 11:40 PM and notified the police agency. The police deployed 15 members of the SWAT bomb disposal unit and 4 police dogs to search inside and around the Democratic Party headquarters in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, but no explosives were found.
The police concentrated security personnel near the Democratic Party headquarters and increased patrols.
The post has since been deleted.
