Seoul City-Aekyung Industrial Support 3,000 Sets of 'Hope Packages' of Daily Necessities for Vulnerable Groups
Donation Ceremony Held at Seoul City Hall on the 18th
Aekyung Industrial Supports Vulnerable Groups for 11 Years with Hope Packages, Totaling 33.7 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 18th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Aekyung Industrial Co., Ltd., and the Seoul Social Welfare Council's Seoul Itda Food Bank Center held the '2022 Hope Package Donation Ceremony' at Seoul City Hall for vulnerable groups in Seoul.
At this ceremony, Aekyung Industrial Co., Ltd. donated 3,000 sets of hope packages worth approximately 1 billion KRW, consisting of essential daily products such as detergent, shampoo, and toothpaste. The donated hope packages will be received by the Seoul Itda Food Bank Center and distributed to vulnerable groups in Seoul through basic food banks and markets in 25 autonomous districts.
Since 2012, Aekyung Industrial has been carrying out continuous social contribution projects for the underprivileged in Seoul to practice its corporate philosophy of 'Love (愛) and Respect (敬)'. Through the Hope Package Sharing event, now in its 11th year, a total of 33,000 households have received daily necessities worth approximately 6.5 billion KRW, and to date, products worth about 33.7 billion KRW have been donated.
Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Government is promoting projects such as support for discovering and assisting welfare blind spots, improving welfare for vulnerable groups, providing summer and winter season daily necessities, supporting environmental improvements for low-income households, supplying quarantine supplies, and supporting energy-vulnerable groups through close cooperation with private companies including Aekyung Industrial.
Executive Director Lee Shin-young of Aekyung Industrial said, “We hope this Hope Package Donation Ceremony will be an opportunity to share warm affection with the marginalized neighbors in Seoul,” and added, “Aekyung Industrial will continue to expand various social contribution activities to spread a culture of sharing.”

Seoul Welfare Planning Officer Lee Soo-yeon said, “We are glad that our neighbors in hardship around us can spend a warm year-end with the daily necessities donated,” and added, “The Seoul Metropolitan Government will carefully watch to ensure that no marginalized neighbors are left behind.”
