Gwangju Seo-gu Geumho 1-dong, Support for Warm Lunchboxes for Vulnerable Exam Students
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Community Security Council of Geumho 1-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Chairman Kim Jeong-gyun) announced on the 17th that they provided love call taxis and warm thermal lunchboxes to five vulnerable examinees taking the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).
With the cooperation of the Gwangju Bitgoeul Call Taxi Volunteer Association (President Seo Young-kwon), this project, which has been promoted for three years, was prepared to help vulnerable examinees take the CSAT smoothly by providing vehicle services and meals.
On the day of the event, 15 people, including members of the Geumho 1-dong Security Council and the Gwangju Bitgoeul Call Taxi Volunteer Association, personally prepared lunchboxes with warm rice and side dishes from 2 a.m. on the CSAT day.
Also, members of the Gwangju Bitgoeul Call Taxi Volunteer Association received the lunchboxes and directly visited the examinees' homes to safely and comfortably transport them to the test sites.
Kim Jeong-gyun, chairman of the Geumho 1-dong Security Council, said, “I hope the examinees eat the lunchboxes made with sincerity and achieve good results in this exam.”
Seo Young-kwon, president of the Gwangju Bitgoeul Call Taxi Volunteer Association, and volunteer members including Lee Gil-ro said, “We feel rewarded to be able to volunteer for examinees every year,” and “We will continue to do our best to safely and comfortably transport examinees to the test sites.”
Meanwhile, the Geumho 1-dong Security Council is carrying out various projects for children and adolescents in the area, such as ‘Child Guardian Security Officers,’ ‘Congratulations on Hodong-a’s Admission,’ and ‘CSAT Examinee Safety Call Taxi and Lunchbox Support.’
