[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] GS25, operated by GS Retail, announced on the 17th that it will officially launch strawberry sandwiches starting on the 22nd. Currently, GS25 is selling two types of strawberry sandwiches through pre-orders via 'Our Neighborhood GS.'
This year, GS25 is introducing two products: the Strawberry Sandwich and the Cream Rabbit Strawberry Tongtong Sandwich. Both feature the popular character Molang. The white Molang, reminiscent of fresh cream, harmonizes with the red color of the strawberries, enhancing the freshness and tangy sensation.
GS25 stated, "Pre-order items through Our Neighborhood GS have been selling out daily, with the daily preparation quantity of 400 units being sold out continuously," adding, "We expect the Cream Rabbit Strawberry Tongtong Sandwich, launched for the first time this year, to become a mega hit among light eaters."
The Cream Rabbit Strawberry Tongtong Sandwich, released targeting light eaters, consists of one piece. While the strawberry sandwich is made up of two pieces, this one-piece product is characterized by a generous amount of fresh cream and strawberries. The amount of fresh cream is twice that of one piece of the strawberry sandwich, and the strawberry quantity is increased by about 30%. GS25 explained that rather than increasing the bread quantity, they enriched the fresh cream and strawberry amounts to allow customers to enjoy the original taste of the strawberry sandwich in a small but substantial portion.
GS25 plans to first release the Cream Rabbit Strawberry Tongtong Sandwich on the 22nd at GS25 stores in the metropolitan area. The launch of the strawberry sandwich is scheduled for early December, depending on strawberry supply conditions.
As pre-orders for the two types of strawberry sandwiches continue to sell out daily, GS25 has decided to urgently expand strawberry supply regions. In addition to areas like Jinju and Sancheong, where a significant amount of strawberries has already been secured, the supply will be expanded to the Nonsan region to meet the explosive customer demand.
