Strengthening Minimalism... Hyundai Card 'Zero Edition 2' Card Design Revamp
Steady Seller with 1 Million Copies Sold Since Its Release in 2011
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Card announced on the 16th that it has revamped the design of its flagship credit card product, the 'Hyundai Card ZERO Edition2.' The ZERO series is Hyundai Card's steady seller product, offering benefits without any performance conditions or limits for the first time in Korea.
With this renewal, Hyundai Card maximized the minimalist characteristics of the existing Hyundai Card ZERO Plate design. First, Hyundai Card replaced the plate color with a white color closer to pure white compared to before. The plate material was also changed from matte to glossy to enhance durability and add a sense of luxury.
The method and placement of the product name and corporate identity (CI) were also changed. Instead of printing and attaching the product name on the plate, a numerical control (NC) machining method was applied to engrave it on the plate, maximizing the plate's inherent aesthetics. Additionally, the 'Edition 2' lettering area, which uses YouandiNew, a variable font developed by Hyundai Card as the first domestic company, and the Hyundai Card CI color were changed from black to light gray to make the pure white plate stand out more. The positions of the product name and CI were also rearranged based on the 'module grid system' with a card aspect ratio of 1:1.58, allowing customers to recognize the product name and CI more easily.
