Jin Air Reports Q3 Operating Loss of 17.4 Billion Won... Reduced Deficit
Q3 Sales Revenue of 174.5 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Jin Air reported an operating loss of 17.4 billion KRW for the third quarter of this year. This represents a reduction of 27.1 billion KRW in the deficit compared to the same period last year (44.5 billion KRW).
Jin Air announced this on the 14th through a public disclosure. During the same period, sales increased by 188% to 174.5 billion KRW from 60.6 billion KRW in the previous year. Net loss for the period was 41 billion KRW, down 17.9 billion KRW compared to 58.9 billion KRW in the same period last year.
Jin Air's cumulative sales from the first to the third quarter (January to October) this year amounted to 368.4 billion KRW, with an operating loss of 78.9 billion KRW and a net loss of 100.7 billion KRW. These results show improvement compared to the same period last year. Sales increased by 200.4 billion KRW, while operating loss and net loss decreased by 74.5 billion KRW and 80.7 billion KRW, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Regarding the third quarter performance, Jin Air explained that despite the continued challenging environment due to rising exchange rates, high oil prices, and the resurgence of COVID-19, sales increased and the deficit narrowed compared to the same period last year due to business recovery through increased international flight supply.
