The 2022 Jinhae Modern Urban Architecture International Forum was organized to reexamine the concepts of modern cities and modern architecture, focusing on the architecture, history, and culture of East Asian military and port cities during the modern period, and to suggest directions for the preservation and utilization of Jinhae's modern historical and cultural spaces with citizen participation.
The forum began with a keynote presentation titled "Directions for Jinhae Modern Historical and Cultural Spaces" by Professor Park Jin-seok (Department of Architecture, Gyeongnam National University), followed by thematic presentations including "Japan's Colonial Town Development Using Military Sites ? Focusing on Yongsan, Seoul Around 1900" by Dr. Nam Yong-hyeop (Researcher at Nagoya University), "On-site Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage" by Kanehiro Akira (USC Architectural Design Office, Yokohama), and "Japanese Houses in Various Countries" by Yusu Kamata (Tokyo Arts and Space, TOKAS).
