New COVID-19 Cases in China Surpass 14,000

According to the National Health Commission of China on the 14th, the number of new COVID-19 cases reported across 31 provinces from midnight to midnight the previous day was 14,761 (including 13,086 asymptomatic cases). The daily new cases, which were around 2,000 at the end of last month, have sharply increased this month, maintaining over 10,000 cases daily since the 10th.

In Beijing, 407 new cases (170 asymptomatic) were reported on the same day. There are 163 areas classified as high-risk zones. In Chaoyang District, where many Koreans reside, 136 new cases were confirmed, and 39 new cases were added in Haidian District, known for its concentration of prestigious universities.
