View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on the 11th that Baek Gwang-young (82), the representative of Hana Kindergarten located in Samgaksan-dong, donated 20 million won as consolation money for the Itaewon tragedy.
Mr. Baek visited the Samgaksan-dong Community Service Center on the 31st of last month and quietly expressed his intention to donate. At first, he insisted on remaining anonymous, but he revealed his name after persuasion from those around him.
During the handover ceremony at the district office on the 11th, Representative Baek said, “When I first heard about the Itaewon tragedy through the news, my heart ached so much that I wanted to offer a small consolation to the victims and their families by donating.”
The donation will be fully used as support funds for the Itaewon tragedy through the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest.
