You Can Share XR Experiences Even While Wearing a Headset
BIFAN and French Embassy in Korea Present 'Digital November' Exhibition
Breaking Traditional Viewing Concepts... Introducing Ten Works on Themes of 'Gongjon' and 'Gongsang'
The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) and the French Embassy in Korea will hold "Digital November 2022: Round and Round, Digital Circle" from the 19th to the 26th at S Factory in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. It is an exhibition where audiences gather to experience extended reality (XR) works. It breaks away from the concept of viewing that inevitably scatters due to headset use and encourages shared experiences.
The exhibited works consist of ten pieces created under the themes of "coexistence" and "fantasy." These include "Waking Up to the Apocalypse in the Morning," "Mirror: The Signal," "Unknown Lifeforms," and "Dreambuilders," which were screened in BIFAN's XR section "Beyond Reality," as well as BIFAN's Korean fantastic highlights such as "Chilheuk," "Incheon Stella," "The Fifth Thoracic Vertebra," and "Mind Universe." Visitors can also experience Michel Gondry's "The Science of Sleep" and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's "City of Lost Children."
Kim Jong-min, BIFAN XR curator, said, "We plan to present an expanded form of experience through the theme of 'circle'." He confidently added, "Through experiences that realize imagination, it will be an opportunity to contemplate how we will coexist together in the future and to envision what kind of future will unfold."
