Over 80 Japanese Company Job Openings... Major Recruitment Positions Are in IT Sector

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] The Korea International Trade Association held the '2022 Japan Company Employment Fair (Career in Japan 2022)' for two days starting from the 12th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. This fair has been jointly organized with Mynavi Corporation, Japan's largest recruitment agency, since 2016 to address domestic youth unemployment and foster global talent.
This year, the event was held offline for the first time in three years. Twenty-one Japanese companies, including SoftBank, Nissan Motor, and Miura Industry, participated. These companies conducted interviews over the two-day fair with 142 domestic youths selected through a preliminary document screening. They plan to hire a total of about 80 Korean youths. The main recruitment positions include IT-related roles such as ▲Information Processing ▲Programming ▲System Engineering ▲Web Design, as well as ▲Research ▲Product Development ▲Sales.
The Trade Association revealed that, according to a survey conducted among attendees of the pre-fair briefing session, domestic youth job seekers hope to work in Japan due to reasons such as career development (35.7%), admiration for Japanese culture (23.5%), and intensified domestic employment competition (13.3%). In fact, among graduates of the Trade Association's Smart Cloud IT Master course, there have been cases of starting careers in Japan and then transferring to domestic large corporations and global companies. For example, graduate A joined Pullout, a digital marketing company based in Tokyo, in 2018 and transferred to Samsung Electronics in 2020.

We will continue to hold overseas employment fairs to support the global career development of our youths.”
