Broadcasting Review Committee Deletes and Blocks 220 Inappropriate Posts Related to Itaewon Disaster

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] The Korea Communications Standards Commission announced on the 10th that the Communications Review Subcommittee additionally reviewed 47 internet posts related to the Itaewon tragedy and decided to delete or block them.
Among the 47 posts, 27 contained content mocking the victims and their families or promoting prejudice with unverifiable facts, while 20 posts included shocking and provocative photos and videos exposing the scene without any filtering.
The Commission stated that since the tragedy occurred, a total of 104 related posts have been reviewed and deleted or blocked. Additionally, they requested self-regulation from major domestic and international platforms, resulting in the deletion of 116 posts. The total comes to 220 posts.

On the same day, the Commission also shared specific review cases with domestic and international operators and urged them to strengthen self-regulation.
