Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hosts Gyeongnam IP Startup Festival for Successful Startup Launches
Twinwiz Wins Grand Prize at Startup IR Competition, 8 Companies Including Roamed Receive Excellence Awards
The '2022 Gyeongnam IP Startup Festival,' jointly hosted by the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Gyeongnam Bank to support the successful establishment of startups in the Gyeongnam region, has come to a close.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] The '2022 Gyeongnam IP Startup Festival,' jointly hosted by the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry and BNK Gyeongnam Bank, and co-organized by the Gyeongnam Intellectual Property Center, Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, and Gyeongnam Venture Investment, successfully concluded on the 10th at the Grand Ballroom on the 2nd floor of the Grand Mercure Ambassador Changwon.
The event was attended by about 200 people, including Gu Ja-cheon, Chairman of the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Choi Hong-young, President of BNK Gyeongnam Bank, local businesspeople, officials from Gyeongsangnam-do and Changwon City, and students.
At the first event of the festival, the 'Startup IR Competition Awards Ceremony,' TwinWiz, the grand prize winner, along with three companies receiving excellence awards and four companies receiving leap awards, were honored.
Following this, at the awards ceremony for the '13th Gyeongnam Intellectual Property Search Utilization Contest,' 11 people including Yoon Ji-su from Inje University, who received the Excellence Award and the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman's Award, were recognized, and Jeon Min-ju from Inje University received the Special Award, the Gyeongsangnam-do Governor's Award.
After the two award ceremonies, five senior companies including Shinseong Delta Tech and five companies awarded at the Startup IR Competition, including TwinWiz, signed a 'Win-win Business Agreement for Successful Startup of Gyeongnam IP Startups.' In addition to the awards, according to the agreement, they agreed to mutually cooperate to lead successful startups by transferring management know-how and technology development from senior companies.
At the IR event held concurrently, the core technologies and business models possessed by the award-winning companies were introduced, attracting much attention from the attendees.

Gu Ja-cheon, Chairman of the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, "Through this Startup IR Competition, we realized that excellent startup companies are sprouting in our region despite the relatively poor startup ecosystem," adding, "If successful senior companies share their management know-how and active investment continues for these startup companies, there is a great possibility that they will grow into companies representing the region. We hope for active interest and support from businesspeople, local governments, and related regional organizations to foster the local startup ecosystem."
