Finally Profitable Coupang... Q3 Revenue 6.8 Trillion KRW, Operating Profit 103.7 Billion KRW (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Coupang recorded its first quarterly profit since launching Rocket Delivery in 2014.
According to Coupang's Q3 earnings report submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the 10th (Korean time), Coupang achieved sales of 6.8383 trillion won (quarterly average exchange rate 1,340.5 won), a 27% increase compared to the same period last year (5.385 trillion won). This is the highest sales figure ever in Korean won terms.
Dollar-denominated sales reached $5.1133 billion, a 10% increase compared to the same period last year ($4.6447 billion).
Notably, profitability improved significantly in Q3. Coupang recorded an operating profit of 103.7 billion won ($77.42 million) and a net profit of 121.5 billion won ($90.67 million) in Q3. This is the first quarterly profit since the launch of Rocket Delivery in 2014.

In Q3 of last year, Coupang posted an operating loss of $315.11 million (365.3 billion won) and a net loss of $323.97 million (375.6 billion won).
