Dongmyeong University SW-Centered University Project Group and Korean Game Society Jointly Host International Game Academic Conference

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongmyung University SW-Centered University Project Group will hold the international game academic conference ‘International Conference on Global Trends in Gaming (ICGTG 2022)’ together with the Korea Game Society during the G-Star period on the 18th and 19th for two days.
The ICGTG 2022, held at Dongmyung University Central Library Auditorium and the 1st Information and Communication Building, will feature special lectures by seven distinguished figures in the global gaming field from the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Taiwan, India, and other countries, as well as presentations of over 60 excellent papers that have passed the review process.
Recent issues in the gaming field such as artificial intelligence, photorealistic graphics, enhanced multiplayer games, cloud-based on-demand gaming, virtual and augmented reality, and related technology trends and industry cases will also be introduced.
The event will broadly cover social issues including the impact and role of games in our society, the importance of games and gamification in solving global problems such as aging societies and climate change, and digital therapy using gamification.
Students from the Department of Game Engineering and the Metaverse SW Convergence Major will also present numerous game contents developed through industry-academia collaborative projects with companies as academic papers.
Jo Mi-kyung, head of the SW-Centered University Project Group, said, “The event will be an opportunity to broaden insights into the gaming and metaverse industry fields by listening to special lectures from world-renowned gaming experts and watching paper presentations, helping participants grow into global SW talents.”
The Korea Game Society, the only academic society in the gaming field in Korea, has been the center of academic exchange among gaming experts from academia and industry since its founding in 2001.
Dongmyung University’s SW-Centered University Project Group, led by the Departments of Game Engineering and Computer Engineering, is committed to nurturing excellent SW talents with practical skills and spreading SW value in the southeastern region.
