Police Shoot Wild Boar with Pistol in Bundang Underpass
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] On the 9th, a wild boar appeared at the Sunae Underpass in Sunae-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.
According to the police, at around 6:06 PM that day, a report was received stating, "A large animal, either a wild boar or a deer, is lying on the road."
Police officers who responded discovered the wild boar lying on the road toward Jeongja at the Sunae Underpass and approached it. As the officers got closer, the wild boar suddenly stood up and ran around the road. Judging that this could potentially lead to a traffic accident, an officer fired three live rounds from a .38 caliber pistol, killing the wild boar.

No injuries or property damage occurred due to the wild boar. A police official stated, "It appears the wild boar was hit by a car and was lying down, but no related report was filed, so it is presumed someone hit the wild boar and left. Since the wild boar posed a risk of causing damage, it was shot."
