Some Foreigners Involved in Mass Brawl in Downtown Gwangju Arrested

The Gwangju Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit announced on the 9th that some foreigners were booked without detention on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes (joint assault and joint injury).
They are suspected of engaging in a brawl involving 8 to 10 individuals of Russian and Uzbekistani Koryo-saram nationality around 4 a.m. on the 30th of last month on the road in front of a bar near the Gusi City Hall intersection in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
It was investigated that they did not have any prior grudges and that the incident started from a simple quarrel while drinking.
They are also accused of assaulting an American national who tried to break up the fight.
