[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province is taking measures to respond to emerging and re-emerging infectious disease crises such as COVID-19.
According to the province on the 8th, a training to strengthen response capabilities by establishing a cooperative system among medical staff, public officials, and related organizations will be held on the 9th in Hoengseong.
This is the first time in three full years since it was suspended due to the nationwide spread of COVID-19 after July 19, 2019.
The training consists of lectures on the epidemiological characteristics of infectious diseases and initial response to suspected patients, simulated discussions and role-playing based on virtual scenarios, and practice in putting on and taking off personal protective equipment.

The province plans to continuously conduct training to strengthen frontline response capabilities, including establishing cooperative systems among related organizations, in preparation for the emergence of highly transmissible new viruses.
