Goheung-gun, Namyang-myeon 'LPG Small Storage Tank Supply Project' Expected to Improve Resident Convenience
Gas Supply to 69 Households in Namyang Village Starting January Next Year
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that the 'LPG Piping Network Facility Construction' in Namyang Village, Namyang-myeon, will be actively promoted starting in November.
The 'Village-level LPG Small Storage Tank Supply Project' is a project that installs small storage tanks, gas supply pipelines, and user facilities (such as boilers) in rural villages where city gas is not supplied, to provide residents with stable gas supply.
This year, Jeonnam Province is promoting the project targeting four villages, and in Goheung-gun, Namyang Village was selected as a project target. The design service was completed in September, and the project is being promoted with the goal of completion in December.
This project, with a total budget of 912 million KRW, supports facility costs so that 69 households in Namyang Village can use LPG cheaply and safely from around January next year. It is expected that the residential environment will improve as residents can use fuel safely.
Jo Bong-geun, head of Namyang-myeon, said, "Recently, residents have been worried about winter heating costs due to the soaring oil prices," and added, "Once the LPG piping network construction project is completed, the burden on household budgets due to heating costs will be reduced." He also stated, "We will strive to ensure that more villages can benefit next year."
Meanwhile, upon completion of this project, it is expected that the inconvenience of ordering gas individually for each household will be resolved, fuel use safety will be secured through management by professional companies, and safety will be greatly improved through modernization of gas facilities such as removal of old pipelines and replacement with metal pipelines.
