[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] KT is scheduled to hold a board meeting on the 9th to begin the process of selecting the next CEO, and current KT CEO Koo Hyun-mo has announced his intention to seek reappointment.
On the 8th, KT stated, "CEO Koo Hyun-mo has expressed his intention to be reappointed, and the KT board has decided to proceed with the priority review for reappointment in accordance with relevant regulations." They added, "A CEO Candidate Review Committee has been formed to assess the eligibility of the current CEO for reappointment, and the review will be conducted according to the articles of incorporation and related regulations."
They also added, "We will inform you once discussions at the board become more concrete."

According to KT's articles of incorporation, the CEO candidate must be decided at least three months before the regular shareholders' meeting in March next year. If any disqualifications for Koo's reappointment are found, the candidate selection and review process is expected to restart from the beginning.
