KT Partners with Daesang Welllife for Vietnam Medical DX... Promoting Integrated Healthcare Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT has secured a patient meal sales company as a collaborative partner following local hospitals in Vietnam and domestic platform developers. The plan is to create an integrated healthcare service that encompasses dietary management within Vietnam's telemedicine services.
On the 7th, KT announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Daesang Wellife to promote medical digital transformation (DX) projects such as non-face-to-face cancer patient care services in Vietnam.
The two companies agreed to cooperate on ▲providing telemedicine services for cancer patients in Vietnam ▲validating services through local medical institutions ▲expanding Vietnam's medical DX business.
KT is preparing a non-face-to-face cancer patient care service that supports health management after cancer surgery using a telemedicine platform in Vietnam. The service KT is promoting is based on a mobile application and supports ▲patient-tailored self-management coaching ▲provision of patient food and dietary coaching ▲remote consultation with care coordinators.
Daesang Wellife will support nutritional intake guides for patients, academic and clinical trial data for this service, and provide patient food to service users.
Daesang Wellife owns the number one domestic brand for patient food sales, "New Care." Daesang Wellife entered the Vietnamese market in 2020 and is currently selling seven types of balanced nutritional foods, including New Care's "Active Golden Balance," at local medical institutions and supermarkets.
KT's telemedicine business in Vietnam is provided through two pillars: cancer patient management and chronic disease management. Last year, KT signed an MOU with the Vietnam National Cancer Hospital and plans to conduct service verification targeting gastric cancer surgery patients at the National Cancer Hospital. The cancer patient management platform development is being carried out together with Mediplus Solution.
In parallel, KT is collaborating with domestic and international partners such as Hanoi Medical University and Hurei Positive to verify chronic disease management services.
KT plans to create success stories starting from Vietnam and expand its telemedicine business globally, focusing on Southeast Asia and other countries. Additionally, KT is aiming to develop various medical DX businesses through the establishment of a local corporation in Vietnam.
Song Jae-ho, Vice President and Head of KT AI/DX Convergence Business Division, said, "Vietnam is a market where demand and spending on specialized medical services are steadily increasing as the middle class grows," adding, "We expect to provide integrated healthcare services including dietary management in Vietnam through cooperation with Daesang Wellife."
