Kakao Brain Unveils ‘B^ DISCOVER’... Generates Images from Word Input
Maximizing Personal Artistic Expression Using AI Artist 'Karlo' as a Creative Tool
Available for Use After Downloading the App from App Store and Google Play
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Kakao Brain announced on the 7th that it has globally released for free the AI-based image creation and sharing platform ‘B^ Discover’.
‘B^ Discover’ was created using Kakao Brain’s image generation model and the AI artist ‘Karlo.’ It aims to maximize individual artistic expression by using AI technology as a creative tool and to provide users with new and valuable experiences in a mobile environment.
After downloading the ‘B^ Discover’ app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, users can quickly create high-quality images by entering prompts in English. Users can utilize features such as the ‘Guide’ function, which helps generate high-quality images; the ‘Explore’ function, which allows sharing and viewing created images together; and the ‘Edit’ function, which enables additional image creation by editing prompts.
The ‘Guide’ function serves as a guide for users new to AI image generation services to easily create artworks. For example, by selecting the prompt ‘cat, Renaissance, Opera house, sunrise, red violet’ step-by-step, it creates an image of a cat at the opera house at sunrise in a Renaissance style with a red-violet color scheme.
The ‘Explore’ function is a gallery feature that displays images created by users with ‘B^ DISCOVER.’ Users can view images made by others, save them to their phones, or share them via various social apps like KakaoTalk. Additionally, the prompts corresponding to each image are visible, providing references for creating new images.
With the ‘Edit’ function, users can check the prompts of generated images and edit them to create new images. For example, by adding the location prompt “at a hospital” to the prompt ‘cat wearing a blue jacket’ from another user’s image, one can create an image of a cat wearing a blue jacket in a hospital.
Kakao Brain plans to launch the official version of ‘B^ DISCOVER’ globally within the year, maximizing user convenience. It will add features such as ‘image inpainting,’ which naturally removes or edits unnecessary parts of images, and ‘image outpainting,’ which expands images by imagining light, shadows, and surrounding objects based on existing images. A professional version supporting artists’ creative activities is also scheduled for release early next year.
