KB Sonbo-KT, Promote Digital Transformation of Fire Safety Facilities

KB Insurance announced on the 7th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KT to strengthen social safety and prevent safety accidents through the digital transformation of fire safety facilities.
Through the MOU, KB Insurance will develop products and support insurance subscriptions for customers undergoing digital transformation of fire safety facilities such as fire detectors, and promote and support KT's digital transformation to KB Insurance customers.
KT promised to provide information and services related to digital transformation to KB Insurance customers, promote insurance products to customers undergoing digital transformation, and encourage government support policies.
Both companies agreed to work together as leaders in platform-based digital innovation in the safety sector by preventing major accidents and strengthening social safety. Starting with this cooperation, they plan to collaborate in various ways to ensure safety across Korean society as well as digital transformation using platforms.
Kang Seong-hoon, Vice President of KB Insurance, said, “Recently, the occurrence of fire accidents has been increasing and the scale of damage is becoming larger, so it is necessary to establish a proactive and active risk management strategy to strengthen the social role of insurance companies.” He added, “Through this cooperation with KT, we expect that the prevention of major fire accidents as well as the active development of various products will be promoted through AI/DX (Digital Transformation) technology.”
