Yeosu-si Signs Business Agreement to Create a 'Child and Youth Friendly City'
Agreement Signed on the 3rd in the Mayor's Office with Yeosu Office of Education and Yeosu Police Station
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that on the 3rd, it signed a business agreement in the mayor's office with Yeosu Office of Education (Superintendent Seo Geum-yeol) and Yeosu Police Station (Chief Jeong Seong-rok) to create a 'Child and Youth Friendly City.'
At the signing ceremony, they shared the ideals and directions for promoting a child and youth friendly city and pledged mutual cooperation to create a happy Yeosu City where all rights of children and youth are guaranteed.
According to their respective roles, Yeosu City plans to promote integrated child and youth policies based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to build a child and youth friendly city.
The Yeosu Office of Education will cooperate in rights education, promotion, and child education policies, while the Yeosu Police Station agreed to actively create an environment to protect the safety of children and youth from crimes such as violence and abuse.
Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong said, “Yeosu City, Yeosu Office of Education, and Yeosu Police Station will join forces to make Yeosu a happy and, above all, safe city for children and youth, and we will do our best,” adding, “We expect this agreement to greatly help in carrying out the UNICEF Child Friendly City certification process.”
