[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Avian influenza (AI) has been detected at a meat duck farm located in Cheongju-si, Chungbuk Province.
On the 3rd, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Central Headquarters) announced that H5 type AI antigen was detected at a meat duck farm in Cheongju-si, Chungbuk. The farm was raising 12,000 ducks. There are no other poultry farms within a 500m radius.
The Central Headquarters is testing to determine whether it is highly pathogenic AI. The results will be available within 1 to 3 days.

The Central Headquarters deployed a response team to the farm to carry out quarantine measures such as access control, culling, and epidemiological investigation. Additionally, a temporary movement restriction order was issued for Chungbuk, Sejong, Cheonan-si in Chungnam, and Juwonsan Duck, an affiliate of the affected farm. The temporary movement restriction is effective from 7 PM on the day of the announcement until 7 PM the following day. During this period, the Central Headquarters will form a central inspection team to verify compliance with the orders at farms, facilities, and vehicles.
