To raise safety awareness among residents, Yeongyang County carried out a street campaign from the county office to Yeongyang Traditional Market together with the county safety security guards, focusing on inspecting fire, electrical, and gas facilities for any abnormalities, considering the aging characteristics of the market.
On the 31st, in relation to the Itaewon tragedy, the county held an emergency countermeasure meeting chaired by the vice county governor with heads of safety-related departments to assess the damage status of residents, decided on urgent safety inspections for upcoming local events and major facilities, and starting from today's inspection, plans to conduct proactive, on-site safety inspections of multi-use facilities frequently used by residents and scheduled events.
