This council was established in November 1997 with 35 institutions from 24 countries participating to facilitate mutual information exchange and business consultations among central securities depositories in the Asia-Pacific region.
The 24th ACG Annual General Meeting was scheduled to be held in 2020, with Busan City as the host city and Korea Securities Depository as the organizing institution, through joint efforts by Busan City and Korea Securities Depository in 2019. However, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is now being held this year.
This general meeting will proceed under the theme "Financial Industry, Navigating the Sea of Uncertainty," starting with a welcome reception, followed by a special program of this meeting, the "Korea-Asia Financial Cooperation Forum," the ACG high-level meeting and general meeting, and a Busan tour program.
During the meeting period, Busan City and Korea Securities Depository plan to actively promote the bid for the "2030 Busan World Expo."
Lee Myung-ho, President of Korea Securities Depository, said, "We are pleased to hold the event in Busan after waiting for more than two years due to COVID-19, and we hope that hosting the ACG general meeting and forum will contribute to fostering Busan as an international financial center and to the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo."
