Offline Event Held After 3 Years Due to COVID-19
300 Domestic Companies and Foreign Investors Gather in One Place
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] The Invest KOREA Week (IKW) is being held offline for the first time in three years.
Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and co-organized by KOTRA and the International Broadcasting Exchange Foundation, the "2022 Invest KOREA Week" is taking place both online and offline starting from the 2nd.
Now in its 18th year, IKW is Korea's representative national investment attraction IR event. Due to COVID-19, it was held only online for the past two years, but this year, for the first time in three years, 300 domestic companies and foreign investors will gather in one place both online and offline. The discussions that were previously held via video calls are expected to accelerate investment timing or concretize projects into new or increased investments through face-to-face consultations.
This year's event centers on the core theme of "Battery (B), Bio (B), and Semiconductor (C)," advanced industries attracting global attention, bringing together major related companies to exchange opinions between enterprises.
At the opening forum, amid heightened global uncertainties such as the post-COVID-19 situation and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, foreign investment attraction in advanced sectors will be explained as one of the measures to restore the global supply chain. Additionally, Korea's investment attractiveness and opportunities will be introduced to global businesspeople and investors, and small and medium-sized enterprises, mid-sized companies, and local governments (Economic Free Zone Authorities) will meet with domestic and foreign investors to discuss various investment projects.

Andre Nothomb, Asia Head of Solvay, one of the world's top 10 precision chemical companies, said in a congratulatory video, "Korea is an attractive investment destination due to its excellent infrastructure, workforce, and friendly government policies," and added, "I am pleased to have the opportunity to meet Korea's foreign-invested companies and government through this event."
