Busan City recently announced on the 1st that National Geographic Traveler included Busan in its list of the top 35 travel destinations for 2023.
National Geographic is regarded as an iconic global travel information magazine with the largest network in Europe and a high-quality publication.
For the 'Top 35 Travel Destinations of 2023,' National Geographic announced seven cities in each of five categories: nature, adventure, family travel, community, and culture. Busan was selected as one of the seven cities in the culture category.
National Geographic introduced 'Busan' as a city with high cultural value in Asia, home to the prestigious Busan International Film Festival, as well as coffee and beer breweries.
The selection reason was explained as follows: "Busan has both mountains and the sea, where various attractions coexist, and its tourism resources such as culture and food harmonize well, providing meaningful value to all travelers."
It added, "Recently, Busan is attracting attention as a new tourist destination among Europeans who have a high interest in Korean culture, including K-content."
Currently, the main page of the official National Geographic Traveler website features a cityscape cover of Busan.
