Following the large-scale crush disaster in Itaewon, OTT platforms and broadcasters have canceled or postponed this week's schedules.
Netflix announced on the 31st that it will delay the release of the drama The Fabulous, starring Chae Soo-bin and Choi Min-ho. The originally scheduled release date was the 4th of next month. Netflix also canceled related events, including the production presentation planned for the 2nd of next month. Coupang Play will also postpone the release of the new dating reality show Office Romance, initially set for the 4th of next month. The revised release date will be announced later.
Broadcasters are mainly suspending variety programs. With the national mourning period designated until the 5th of next month, there is a general atmosphere of refraining from programming. MBC postponed the first broadcast of Ilta Gangsa, which covers social, cultural, sports, and entertainment issues, from the 2nd to the 9th of next month. tvN is suspending almost all variety programs, including Waiting in Line Restaurant, Our Cha Cha Cha, The People at the Chairman's House (all on the 31st), Youth MT (November 4th), and Amazing Saturday (November 5th). The production presentation for the drama Surviving as a Celebrity Manager, planned for the 2nd of next month, has also been postponed.
