Shinan-gun Postpones 'Senior Citizens' Day' Commemoration Event
[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Sinan County (Governor Park Woo-ryang) was planning to hold Senior Citizens' Day commemorative events in each town and township in October, the Month of the Elderly, but postponed the events in Imja-myeon on the 31st and in Aphae-eup on November 1st due to the Itaewon Halloween tragedy.
Hosted by the senior citizens' associations of each town and township, this event, held for the first time in three years since COVID-19, was being conducted with pre-ceremony performances and a commemorative ceremony to raise social interest and respect for the elderly.

Park Woo-ryang, Governor of Sinan County, said, "In light of the national mourning atmosphere related to the Itaewon Halloween tragedy, we urgently decided to postpone the Senior Citizens' Day commemorative events," adding, "We ask for the elders' understanding with our sincere apologies."
