Military Officials Express Condolences with Black Ribbons During National Mourning Period
Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held a safety measures meeting in the county office's administrative conference room to review major event plans within the county in relation to the Itaewon incident.

County Governor Kim Bu-young urged the raising of flags at half-mast in accordance with the national mourning period and requested restraint in festivals and events. He also instructed thorough pre-safety inspections of all future festivals and crowded event venues.
Additionally, he emphasized the implementation of strong duty inspections to prevent excessive drinking and group dinners outside working hours, as well as conduct that could damage the dignity of public officials and cause social controversy, stressing the establishment of solemn public service discipline.
Governor Kim said, "I pray for the repose of the victims and hope everyone will join in the mourning atmosphere."
