On the 31st, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will create the position of 'Chief Administrative Officer,' a professional fixed-term position equivalent to grade 2, directly under the Governor to strengthen political policy advisory functions in the 8th elected term.
The Chief Administrative Officer will assist in policy decisions related to major provincial policy planning and coordination. Accordingly, the existing Chief Policy Officer (equivalent to grade 2) will assist in policy decisions related to external cooperation across the province, and the Chief Opportunity Gyeonggi Officer (equivalent to grade 3) will assist in discovering provincial policies and managing the performance of pledge fulfillment, dividing the roles.
As a result, the senior political advisory staff will increase to three directly under the Governor and one directly under the Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs (Chief Political Officer).
