Professor Kim Hyun of Korea University College of Medicine Receives 'Top Award' at the Korean Association of Anatomists Academic Conference

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] Korea University College of Medicine announced on the 31st that Professor Kim Hyun of the Department of Anatomy received the highest academic award, the 'Excellence Award,' at the 72nd Annual Meeting of the Korean Association of Anatomists held from the 19th to the 21st at the Inter-Burgo EXCO in Daegu.
The Korean Association of Anatomists, established in 1947, is a domestic academic organization in the field of anatomical research. Professor Kim Hyun was selected as the recipient of the Excellence Award in recognition of his lifelong contributions to anatomical research.
Since 2003, Professor Kim participated as the principal investigator of the core facility for the 21st Century Frontier Brain Function Utilization and Brain Disease Treatment Technology Research Project for 10 years, providing support for advanced tissue anatomy-related research technologies. In 2018, he served as the head of the Brain and Advanced Biomedical Engineering Division at the National Research Foundation of Korea.
In his research field, he has published over 280 papers in domestic and international journals (216 in SCI-level journals), focusing particularly on neuroanatomical studies related to depression, with research results published in prestigious academic journals.

Professor Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, "I thank domestic and international collaborators and the Korean Association of Anatomists for their support, which enabled meaningful results in numerous studies." He added, "I will continue to be actively involved with Korea University College of Medicine, the Anatomical Society, and national institutions, further contributing to enhancing the status of the Korean Association of Anatomists."
