[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Wanyong] As the real estate market enters a downturn, residential officetel complexes offering free options are emerging one after another.
According to industry sources on the 30th, amid nationwide concerns over unsold units due to interest rate hikes and falling house prices, free option offers, which were rare during the boom period, are reappearing mainly in residential officetel complexes that are relatively free from regulations.
It is analyzed that including built-in home appliances and middle doors as free options effectively emphasizes the price reduction effect, attracting consumer response. Brand complexes built by major construction companies have also started applying free options.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction is offering brand home appliances as free options in ‘Hillstate Dongtan Station Centric,’ currently being sold in the Gwangyeok Business Complex, the central commercial and business area of Dongtan 2 New Town. Bespoke refrigerators, dishwashers, air dressers, shoe dressers, etc., are applied as free options, minimizing paid option items.
DL E&C’s residential officetel ‘Acro Yeouido The One,’ being sold in Yeouido, Seoul, also provides home appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, dryers, and induction cooktops free of charge. Free option benefits are also offered for art walls, ceramic tiles, and middle doors.
Additionally, ‘Baegunhosu Prugio Forest Morning’ offers built-in wardrobes, middle doors, and hybrid cooktops free of charge, while ‘Eunpyeong Xi The Star’ applies free options such as ventilation-type air purification systems, Objet refrigerators, and European porcelain flooring.
