On the 30th, Ambassador Goldberg posted on his Twitter account, "My heart aches over the tragic loss of life that occurred last night in Itaewon."
He added, "Myself and the staff at the U.S. Embassy extend our heartfelt condolences to the Korean people, including the families who lost loved ones in this tragedy and the injured."
The U.S. Embassy in Korea also stated that day, "We offer our deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones in the tragic incident that occurred last night in Itaewon," and "We hope all the injured recover fully."
Furthermore, they added, "As an ally, partner, and friend, we stand with the Republic of Korea during this incredibly difficult time."
Earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden also expressed his condolences in a statement, saying, "The alliance between our two countries is more vibrant and energetic than ever, and the bonds between our peoples are stronger than ever," and "The United States will stand with Korea during this tragic time."
Colin Crooks, the British Ambassador to Korea, also posted on his Twitter account that day, "My heart is heavy with the news of the tragedy that occurred last night in Itaewon, Seoul," and "I send my deepest condolences and sympathies to the Korean people, especially the victims and their families."

As of 9 PM, a total of 233 casualties were reported, including 151 deaths and 82 injuries. There were also 19 foreign nationals among the deceased.
