This event is planned as part of the "Export Plus" project, which is a strategy to strengthen export competitiveness announced by the Korean government, and is linked to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Vietnam. It is jointly organized with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, KOCHAM, and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
KOTRA has prepared ▲ the Korea-Vietnam Food and Culture Exchange Festival ▲ the Korea-Vietnam 30th Anniversary Forum and Promising Industries Seminar and Consultation ▲ and the Southern Vietnam Investment Environment Briefing for this event.
The Korea-Vietnam Food and Culture Exchange Festival is held to introduce the foods of both countries and promote their cultures in celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Vietnam. The festival features 230 booths with consumer goods companies from both countries participating. Through this event, KOTRA encouraged imports by directly involving Vietnamese import vendors in the promotional exhibition to help domestic small and medium-sized enterprises gain export opportunities to Vietnam.
The Korea-Vietnam 30th Anniversary Commemorative Forum will be held on the 31st at the New World Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, with over 100 government and corporate officials from both countries attending. Korean speaker Dr. Kwak Seong-il from the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy and Vietnamese speaker Nguyen An Tuan, Deputy Director of the Institute for International Political Strategy at the Vietnam National Diplomatic Academy, will participate. The forum will highlight the 30 years of past cooperation between Korea and Vietnam and propose concrete directions for mutual cooperation in the next 30 years. KOTRA also plans to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo to senior government officials in Ho Chi Minh City.
On the afternoon of the 31st, in cooperation with the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, Gangwon Provincial Government, Korea Information Technology Industry Promotion Agency, and Korea Software Industry Association, seminars and business consultations will be held in four fields with high potential for Korea-Vietnam cooperation: eco-friendly industries, smart farms, smart healthcare, and IT outsourcing. About 70 domestic companies and approximately 200 Vietnamese buyers and vendors will participate to learn about related policies and the latest trends and discuss cooperation plans.
On the 1st and 2nd of next month, a Southern Vietnam Investment Environment Briefing will be held. This event is conducted in collaboration with the Southern Vietnam Investment Promotion Center (IPCS) and the Ho Chi Minh Trade and Investment Promotion Center (ITPC). Investment promotion officials from five southern provinces and cities of Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province, Long An Province, Dong Nai Province, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province) and Can Tho City, the center of the Mekong Delta region, will gather to provide investment environment and incentive explanations and in-depth consultations to about 30 Korean companies interested in investing in Vietnam.
