First, Gyeonggi Province will conduct a joint inspection of major disasters in the second half of the year for about 140 provincial-managed facilities, including buildings and civil engineering structures, over a two-month period until December 7. Among the 140 locations, 30 sites will be jointly inspected by the general department, the responsible department, and external experts for buildings, bridges, tunnels, and more. The remaining 110 sites will be self-inspected by the responsible departments and management entities.
Additionally, from November 7 to January 31 of next year, a special safety inspection to prevent accidents at logistics warehouses will be conducted. During this period, the province and city/counties will inspect the safety status related to construction and fire for 193 logistics warehouses with a total floor area of 15,000㎡ or more that are either in operation or under construction within the province.
The province will also promote industrial accident prevention projects using labor safety guardians for construction, manufacturing, and other industries. In particular, from November to December, industrial accident prevention education will be provided to 109 specialized high schools and Meister high schools in the province. Furthermore, the province and city/counties will continuously urge the central government to allow local governments to share labor inspection authority.
Earlier, on the 28th, Gyeonggi Province held a video conference on major disaster countermeasures at the provincial government office, attended by related department heads and deputy heads of 31 cities and counties.
