Yongin City Provides 100,000 Won to 1,600 Low-Income Single-Parent Families
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has provided 100,000 KRW in grocery support funds to 1,600 low-income single-parent households.
On the 28th, Yongin City announced that, judging that the economic difficulties of vulnerable groups are worsening due to rapid price increases, it paid support funds as part of measures to stabilize the livelihood economy, targeting low-income single-parent families with income below 60% of the median income.
However, as of October 1, 2022, the family must legally maintain single-parent family status. The support funds were paid in cash, 100,000 KRW, to the account of one representative household member.

Lee Sang-il, mayor of Yongin City, said, "Recently, prices have risen so much that the household burden on vulnerable groups has greatly increased, so we provided grocery support funds to offer even a small help," adding, "We will do our best to build a tight social safety net through pinpoint support for vulnerable groups."
