Hampyeong-gun Selected as Best Institution at 'Water Industry Future Vision Forum'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County achieved the great honor of being selected as the Best Institution at the ‘2022 Water Industry Future Vision Forum’.
According to the county on the 27th, Hampyeong County received the Best Award along with Gyeryong City in Chungnam and Hwacheon County in Gangwon at the ‘2022 Water Industry Future Vision Forum’ held at BEXCO in Busan on the 26th.
This award ceremony, organized to explore water industry development strategies in the era of low carbon and green growth, annually selects local governments that have efficiently performed tasks in water management and contributed to the development of the water industry, awarding them certificates of commendation.
Hampyeong County was recognized for its efforts to provide systematic and stable water management services to residents by purchasing Daedong Dam from Mokpo City in 2013 to secure a stable water supply and dividing the water supply areas into two zones (Hampyeong and Haebo).
In addition, the county has been highly evaluated for promoting projects such as ▲local waterworks operation efficiency improvement project (74.2 billion KRW) ▲improvement of water service rate (the ratio that does not leak and generates economic profit) ▲Daedong rural living water development project (14.8 billion KRW) ▲local waterworks modernization project (20.9 billion KRW).
Furthermore, to improve the water quality of Daedong Dam, the region’s main drinking water source, the county is currently implementing non-point pollution reduction projects (2.6 billion KRW) and riverbank filtered water development projects (3 billion KRW), aiming for completion in 2023.
