National Information Resources Service Selected as Asia-Pacific Winner of 'IDC Future Enterprise Awards'
Selected for the 'Future Trust' Category
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The National Information Resources Service (NIRS) under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 26th that it was selected as the Asia-Pacific regional winner in the 'Future of Trust' category of the '2022 IDC Future Enterprise Awards' at the 'IDC DX Summit Singapore' held in Singapore.
IDC is the world's leading market analysis and advisory firm in information and communication technology and consumer technology. Every year, through the 'Future Enterprise Awards,' IDC recognizes institutions that have excelled in business innovation by leveraging digital technologies and capabilities, selecting winners by category. The IDC Future Enterprise Awards are held across 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, selecting national winners and overall Asia-Pacific winners in a total of 14 award categories. According to IDC, this year, 1,071 projects from 707 organizations across 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region participated.
NIRS was selected as a winner in recognition of its successful implementation of the project 'Transformation of Cybersecurity System Configuration Using Artificial Intelligence.' This project is the first case of applying artificial intelligence comprehensively to the digital government security system in government and public institutions.
Since the application of the new security system, the response time to existing cyber threats has been reduced to within 30 seconds, and it has become possible to respond to over 10 million cyber attacks (events) daily, achieving the effect of deploying more than 100,000 personnel. Linus Lai, Vice President of IDC Asia-Pacific Research Group, explained, "By applying artificial intelligence comprehensively to the security system to detect cyber attacks early, they appear to have maximized the efficiency of their response capabilities. This has greatly helped build trust with customers and aligns with their mission to lead digital government through the provision of high-quality services."
