National Science Museum Complex Science Experience Land Passes Preliminary Feasibility Study
Constructed with over 52 billion KRW for parking lot, approximately 10,000㎡ total floor area

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] A large-scale complex science experience land with a budget of over 52 billion KRW and a total floor area exceeding 10,000㎡ will be established at the National Science Museum in Daejeon.
The National Science Museum announced on the 26th that the complex science experience land project, aimed at enhancing public understanding of science and technology and spreading science culture, has passed the preliminary feasibility study by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The complex science experience land to be built in Daejeon will be an experiential complex space designed to spark public interest and enjoyment in science. It will connect the scientific infrastructure of the Daedeok Research and Development Special Zone and serve as a science platform for communication and exchange with the public.
This complex science experience land project was planned and executed in cooperation with Daejeon City from the outset. With a total investment of 52.3 billion KRW, it will be located within the National Science Museum on a site area of 43,710㎡ and a building total floor area of 10,026㎡, scheduled to open in 2027.

The main spatial plan includes a next-generation science and technology experience center where the future coexists with scientific and technological development. The outdoor science yard will utilize the Daedeok Special Zone’s scientific research infrastructure and the museum’s space to create an “open-air science museum” where anyone can enjoy and participate in science.
