Jeong Gi-seop Inaugurated as New President of Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of Housing Construction Association
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Jeong Gi-seop, CEO of Goun Housing, has been appointed as the 11th president of the Korea Housing Construction Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Chapter.
The Korea Housing Construction Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Chapter held its 11th regular general meeting at the Withus Gwangju Grand Ballroom and announced on the 25th that the new president Jeong Gi-seop was unanimously elected by about 1,100 member companies and held an inauguration ceremony.
President Jeong entered the housing construction industry in his early 30s and has served as vice president of the Korea Housing Construction Association Central Committee and vice president of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Chapter. He has also been active as president of the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology Alumni Association, president of the Technology Management Academy Alumni Association, and president of the Chonnam National University Graduate School of Business Alumni Association.
He has grown Goun Housing, Goun City I, Goun Energy, and Damyang Forest into mid-sized companies in the Gwangju-Jeonnam and Incheon regions.
President Jeong has held rice donation events in place of congratulatory flower wreaths at every housing exhibition hall opening event, and has actively participated in community activities such as sharing briquettes of love, supporting fire extinguishers for fire-vulnerable groups, sponsoring local talent development funds, and improving housing for national merit recipients.
President Jeong emphasized, "I will practice sharing wherever and whenever needed for the development of the local community and make Gwangju-Jeonnam the best region for housing business in the country." He added, "We will actively consult with metropolitan and local governments, councils, and others to improve unreasonable regulations or systems that are outdated."
He said, "We will support local housing construction companies to continuously lead the private housing market nationwide," and "We will continuously promote housing quality improvement for the stability of housing for ordinary people and the enhancement of quality of life, focusing also on social contribution projects and strengthening member companies' capabilities."

He also added, "Due to the deterioration of profitability in the domestic housing construction market, we will provide various information to find growth engines through overseas housing business expansion and promote the expansion of residential buildings emphasizing exterior design in Gwangju-Jeonnam."
