Mokpo National University Hosts Promotion Day for Attracting Jeollanam-do Medical School
Jeonnam Region United Voice for Medical School Attraction, Promotional Activities Targeting Local Residents Underway
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] Mokpo National University announced that on the 24th, in celebration of Cheonggye-myeon Senior Citizens' Day held at the 70th Anniversary Hall of Dorim Campus, it jointly set up a promotional booth in the first-floor lobby of the event venue with the Muan Physical Fitness Certification Center and carried out Jeollanam-do Medical School Attraction Promotion Day activities.
This activity was organized to contribute to the development of a healthy local community's health and welfare by promoting the necessity of attracting a medical school to the Jeonnam region, creating a buzz for the attraction, and providing health management services to local senior citizens, utilizing promotional materials for medical school attraction issued by Jeollanam-do.
The Promotion Day operation was conducted with the support of Mokpo City, targeting approximately 800 people including senior citizens attending Cheonggye-myeon Senior Citizens' Day, local residents, and faculty and staff. In addition to distributing medical school attraction promotional leaflets and displaying materials, basic health status checks, physical fitness measurements, and exercise prescription consultations operated by the Muan Physical Fitness Certification Center were provided for the seniors.
Through this promotional activity, Mokpo National University conveyed a message hoping that the 2 million residents of Jeonnam would unite in one voice to support the long-cherished 30-year wish of Jeonnam residents to attract a national medical school. It also promoted to the local community that attracting a medical school to the Jeonnam region is necessary to reduce medical disparities between regions, play a central role in Jeonnam's public medical services, and resolve the shortage of doctors in underserved areas.
