Goobne Chicken Launches New Namhae Garlic Chicken Menu Nationwide at 1,129 Franchise Stores in November
Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, signed a business agreement with GN Food for mutual growth.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] G&Food, the owner of Goobne Chicken, the No.1 oven chicken brand in Korea, and Namhae County, Gyeongnam, known for its beautiful natural scenery and high-quality specialty products, signed a business agreement for mutual development on the 25th.
G&Food will develop and sell chicken using Namhae garlic to contribute to raising the external awareness of Namhae garlic, and Namhae County is expected to further enhance the brand power of "Namhae Garlic Raised on Treasure Island" by supplying excellent garlic.
The signing ceremony held at the county office was attended by County Governor Jang Chung-nam, G&Food CEO Jeong Tae-yong, Operations Director Ahn Jong-seop, Marketing Director Kim Geon-pyo, Namhae County Council Chairman Lim Tae-sik, Namhae Garlic Research Institute Director Park Sam-jun, Chairman Han Jin-gyun of the National Garlic Producers Association Namhae Branch, NH Nonghyup Namhae Branch Manager Cha Yong-seon, and Saenamhae Agricultural Cooperative President Ryu Seong-sik, among others, and a tasting event was also held.
According to the business agreement, G&Food will not only promote garlic consumption but also seek to develop and sell products using specialty products, and cooperate in promoting Namhae County’s tourism and cultural resources, including the "2022 Visit Namhae Year."
First, Goobne Chicken, G&Food’s flagship brand, will hold a pre-launch event for Namhae Garlic Chicken in Seoul’s "Hongdae" on the 29th, and officially launch it at 1,129 Goobne Chicken franchise stores nationwide in November.
Additionally, through a commercial featuring model Cha Seung-won, they plan to maximize the special effects of the World Cup and year-end season. In particular, to increase awareness among the MZ generation and young consumers and generate buzz as a hot new product, they will intensify digital channel marketing on Instagram, YouTube, etc., and run delivery app promotions simultaneously.
The garlic used in this new product will be entirely processed and supplied as peeled Namhae garlic by Saenamhae Agricultural Cooperative, with an expected consumption of about 80 to 100 tons of garlic by next year.
This year, Saenamhae Agricultural Cooperative conducted contract farming with 437 farmers and purchased 580 tons of garlic.
President Ryu said, "The launch of Namhae Garlic Chicken through this agreement will greatly help expand contract farming and promote garlic consumption and publicity."
Governor Jang said, "The cooperation between Goobne Chicken, G&Food’s flagship brand, and Namhae County will greatly help promote the excellence of Namhae garlic," adding, "It will be a great support to garlic farmers who are suffering from garlic imports and unstable price fluctuations, and I hope it will be a sustainable win-win agreement connecting urban and rural areas."
