Goheung-gun Holds 2024 New National Treasury Project Proposal Discovery Report Meeting

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that on the 24th, it held the 2nd discovery report meeting for new projects to secure the 2024 national treasury budget at Heungyang Hall in the county office to establish a "foundation for a population of 100,000 in 10 years" and to "resolve local issues."

The meeting, presided over by Governor Gong Young-min, discussed the feasibility and funding plans for 156 projects discovered as new national treasury budget proposals for 2024, with a total project cost of 1.374 trillion KRW.

The new project discovery targeted future advanced R&D projects linked to essential promises of the 8th elected administration for Goheung's change and development, government national agendas, and key management projects of central ministries, as well as smart agriculture and fisheries projects to attract young population, and tourism infrastructure projects to revitalize the local economy.

Major projects include ▲ Goheung Bay AAM Skyway Tourism (35.8 billion KRW) ▲ Restoration of Heungyang Fortress and creation of Old Downtown Historical and Cultural Street (15 billion KRW) ▲ Development of Premium Marina Port (48.6 billion KRW) ▲ Creation of Healing Forest Botanical Garden (35 billion KRW) ▲ Establishment of Goheung Buncheong Ceramics Transmission Center (20.6 billion KRW), all aimed at activating tourism and culture.

Additionally, projects include ▲ Creation of Agricultural Startup Complex for Young Farmers (18 billion KRW) ▲ Establishment of New Income Export Horticulture Specialized Complex (35 billion KRW) ▲ Support for Diversification of Space Material Parts Business (25 billion KRW) ▲ Construction of Fishing Vessel Building Promotion Complex (45 billion KRW) ▲ Improvement of National Road No. 77 Alignment and Opening of Passing Lane (170 billion KRW) ▲ Urban Flood Prevention Maintenance in Goheung and Doyang (40 billion KRW), covering advanced R&D and regional SOC projects.

On this day, Governor Gong Young-min emphasized, "Securing stable national funding is crucial to securing growth engines for Goheung's change and development," and stressed the need to develop persuasive logic for central ministries and proactively discover projects in advance.

He also underscored the importance of the final reflection of the discovered projects and ordered each department head to actively respond to securing national funds together with the governor after the final confirmation of the proposed projects for inclusion in the 2024 budget.

Goheung-gun plans to finalize the newly discovered national treasury budget proposal projects after departmental reviews, continuously discover proposed projects for Goheung's change and development until May next year, when the 2024 ministry budget plan is finalized, and make every effort to secure national funds.
